Baltimore, MD (April 4, 2018) – The Mullan Contracting Company has captured a “Golden Fork Award” from Golf Inc. Magazine for its clubhouse renovation of the Montgomery Country Club on Golf View Drive in Laytonsville, Maryland. The magazine publishes an annual list of golf club restaurants that have been selected for this honor based on improvements in aesthetics, capital investment, guest satisfaction, traffic and other factors. The new restaurant contained within the Montgomery Country Club is known as Husk & Vine.
The scope of the work completed by Mullan Contracting included the renovation of an existing bar and the construction of a second bar area, the enlargement and improvement of the men’s and women’s restroom areas, and the upgrade of two separate dining areas and banquet room.
Originally built in 1963, the clubhouse contained a disjointed design that lacked cohesiveness and was in need of an overall makeover to match the standards of the country club. The par 6,700-yard par-72 course, located off MD Route 108 near Olney, includes seven water features and is surrounded by a mature tree line.
“Members of the Montgomery Country Club can now enjoy a classically-designed and richly-appointed clubhouse outfitted with modern features and amenities for a comfortable dining experience,” explained Joseph Rode, President of The Mullan Contracting Company. “Since the completion of these improvements, the clubhouse has experienced a 50 percent increase in its à la carte business, and members and guests are coming to the restaurant for dinner more often.”
