Demolished building paving way for new 3100 square foot store
Baltimore, MD (January 28, 2016) – The Mullan Contracting Company completed construction of a new Royal Farms convenience store, fronting on Smith Avenue and adjacent to Greenspring Avenue (Baltimore Exit 22). The general contracting company first demolished a previous store last fall to make way for the new 3100 square foot structure. The free-standing building is situated just over the Baltimore City line at 2330 Smith Avenue in Baltimore County.
The store construction reflects an updated design by Royal Farms, and includes a stone and brick timeless look with and a rooftop cupola. The interior is highlighted by sustainable finishes and state-of-the-art refrigeration and kitchen equipment. As with all Royal Farms stores, this location has been designed to meet LEED standards, with a high efficiency mechanical and refrigeration system, all LED lighting and reduced potable water use. The brand, which competes in the crowded convenience store market, has accelerated its store opening and improvement strategy in recent years.
Royal Farms, which is recognized for its “World-Famous” fried chicken, also markets a line of breakfast sandwiches, as well as made-to-order subs, chicken sandwiches and wraps. The location services a mature housing community that stretches into the Pikesville and Mt. Washington area.
